Standard V
Engage in professional growth and leadership
Reflection
This standard asks the educator to continue their professional growth by learning further throughout their career. Educators meeting this standard work at developing leadership technology skills in themselves and in others. They are advocates for providing rich implementation of current technology trends in their fields. The educator should strive to become part of the digital community in meeting this standard. The website that I created is a good example of becoming part of the online and technology communities. Providing learning activities through this medium shows that I strive to obtain a high level of technology integration in my instruction. My blog is a great example of the fact that I wish to further my own learning in these areas. Through reflecting on the various projects I have created, I can see what will work for me and for my students. This also allows others to participate in my journey as part of a worldwide community of professional learners. Using tools such as the Google gradebook and survey shows my use of emerging technology as part of my everyday tasks as an educator.

Future Learning Goals
My future learning goal for this standard is to continue to grow as a professional. I will do this by staying current on technology issues and research. I will continue to be part of the online community of learners as well to share my ideas and learn from others. I can do this by being part of listservs or participating in various workshops and webinars. I would also like to help others further their learning by sharing what I have learned and how I make it work with my students. I can do this by presenting training to other educators or presenting at conferences and workshops.
- Participate in local and global learning communities to explore creative applications of technology to improve student learning.
